The Challenge

The US District Court, Eastern Michigan District (USDC) first approached ActionWeb Services about a graphical redesign of their existing web site. But, as ActionWeb Services developed a plan for the graphical enhancements, it became clear that the site might be in need of enhancements in other areas as well.

The Challenge

USDC's desire for a graphical update of their site drew into question some organizational issues for the site as well. ActionWeb Services proposed and executed information architecture analyses that lead to the development of a new navigational system for the site. The basic organization of the information presented on the site was also updated, making it easier for visitors to navigate and use.

Because USDC hosts and maintains their web site in-house, the graphical portion of the project was created as a web page template to be populated with text and graphics by the USDC. The template was published to a CD and given to the USDC along with supplemental on-site training. This customized training provided the USDC web development team with the skills they needed to build and maintain their new web site on their in-house server.
